Q5: Favorite parts of the role

What do you enjoy most about being in your current role as an associate?

I think one thing that's really fun and interesting and keeps you on your toes is the dynamic aspect of the role and the different types of projects and teams that you can work on. I don't think I've really worked on two projects that have been very similar throughout my time at McKinsey. You're always working with new people, which makes it really interesting. You're always learning.

I think the other thing is the pace of work. It's never boring. You always feel super challenged and engaged. As much as it might sound like they're long days, they don't always feel that way because they're really go, go, go. It's really intellectually stimulating.

And then, this is more specific to the associate role, you as the associate are often the closest person to the work output itself. You are the one driving the analysis. That can feel really empowering because you have a lot of influence on what that final deliverable can shape out to be.
