What are your main responsibilities within your current role?
I'm currently the managing director responsible for programs and communications. Work on Climate has two strategies.
The first is to focus on building our community, specifically our Slack community. We offer various services and programs to our members for free.
The second strategy is to build the ecosystem, the talent, and the workforce so that it can support people transitioning to climate work. I'm responsible for the first strategy, our community, and communicating what Work on Climate is all about to the outside world.
I also manage a team. We are about 90% volunteer-run, with 10 different operational teams led by volunteers. One of my main responsibilities is managing about 80 volunteers who perform various tasks, helping us keep things running. These tasks range from marketing and events to member experience and research. Those are my main responsibilities.
