Transcript
What entry-level positions are there in this field that an undergraduate college student might consider?
When I was in college, I was a teaching assistant in some of my classes. I also had the opportunity to be the Lead Teacher in one of my undergraduate classes.
One thing that I think is really cool and not a lot of students know about, especially in California, is that once you hit a certain number of credits, I believe it's either 90 or 100 college units. I went to a school that has quarters.
You can actually start subbing as a full-time substitute teacher. Especially in California right now where we have such a shortage, you can get paid $250 a day, or however much per period, to staff a classroom and be the adult in the room. It's a way to get a feel for teaching.
