Transcript
Could you walk me through your career path, starting with your experiences in college? Any internships or jobs you had before your current role?
I'm a teacher, and I never actually thought I would go into teaching. I completed all my prerequisites for medical school, including my MCAT.
I got accepted, but then I decided to teach for two years. I deferred my medical school acceptance for two years.
So that's sort of how I started my career in teaching. I taught math and science on a reservation in New Mexico for two years.
From there, I was recruited by a charter school in San Jose, California, where I currently live. I've stayed here ever since.
I earned my undergraduate degree in neuroscience and psychology with minors in biology and humanities. After moving to San Jose, I obtained my master's in education. I also earned my administrative credential after that.
