What are your main responsibilities within your role?
In terms of teaching, disseminating information to students, grading, and testing, I aim to provide them with the skills necessary for today's workplace. I pride myself on this because my experience in industry and consulting allows me to directly give students what they need to succeed and be competitive.
I know we compete with students from UCLA, USC, Irvine, and other institutions. Therefore, I always want our Long Beach State students to get the best possible experience from our program here at Long Beach.
Outside of teaching, office hours are crucial for connecting with students. I believe this is a really important part of my job because it helps students feel invested and realize someone genuinely cares about them. They tend to perform much better in class afterward.
Grading is the most enjoyable part of the job. It's a huge part of it, along with developing new assessments to accommodate different learning styles. There are so many learning styles, and I do my best to cater to them because I understand not every student is the same.
I feel those are the main aspects of what I do.
