What are your main responsibilities within your role?
As Chief Growth Officer in a startup, you wear many hats. There's a lot to do in that environment, which is common in the startup world.
A little backstory about me: I quit my job in December 2023. I had been at a tech consulting company for a decade and wanted to figure out my next steps.
I had several career pivots before that. I was a journalist, then worked in public relations, and in recruiting and sales at a tech company. I also ran a nonprofit called Austin Women in Technology, which is a networking organization for women in tech.
I wanted to apply my experience from all these pivots, including media and journalism, recruiting and sales, the technology sector, and the nonprofit world. That’s essentially what I tied together.
At the startup, I get to wear many hats as Chief Growth Officer. I oversee collaborations and partnerships with organizations. Our startup is a platform, and we have different channels and partner organizations.
I build new relationships and manage existing ones. I'm also spearheading marketing, storytelling, and testimonials for the platform, which drive growth and product improvement. Essentially, I'm the main media presence, the external and outbound person driving growth for the platform.
