Haley, could you walk me through your career path, starting with why you chose your major in college? Please include your experience in college and any internships or jobs you had before your current role.

Yes, of course. I went to college thinking I would enter a completely different field than I am in now. I wanted to be in a medical field when I first went to college, which is also why I chose the University of Arizona.

However, it didn't end up that way. The large classes were a little daunting for me. I ended up switching my major a couple of times and was honestly just really lost with what I wanted to do and what careers were out there.

I didn't really know what careers were out there and how I would get there. Especially since my family was mainly in construction and electrical, so I was the first-generation college student. Honestly, my main goal after I changed my major was just to graduate.

I was working throughout college. I was a server and a bartender and was promoted to hourly manager. That was my side gig on top of college.

Once I did graduate, I entered the workforce in a [unclear] position. Sales was not for me. I quickly learned that I'm not very good at convincing people that they need to buy something from me. So I started looking for some other opportunities.

From there, I went into more of a project management position within the marketing and website development field. I love that because there are facts to back up why you're making decisions and why you're doing things. It's a little bit more creative as well, and I really like the fast-paced environment.

Ultimately, once I learned that I liked the website development side of things, I wanted to move more into a technology role. From there, I just started exploring my options. I ended up working at NBC in a broadcast engineering project management role, which then led into more of a business operations position.
