What have you learned about your role that you wish someone had told you before entering the industry? As a business owner, you're not the first person to ever run a business. I wish someone had told me that you can look at what successful business owners are doing and adapt their strategies.

You don't have to copy them exactly, but if they're achieving success in a certain area, ask yourself how you can apply that to your business to get results faster. Many people go to business school to learn these things, which is great. But you can also observe what other business owners are doing every day on social media.

See how they're acquiring clients, what ads they're running, and what they're saying in their social media copy. Look at the emails they send and the software they use. Just pay attention to what other entrepreneurs are doing; it's essentially free information.

I wish I had known this earlier, instead of trying to reinvent the wheel. There's so much information already available. Another thing I wish I had known is to act on an idea once you have it.

For me, this often happens with content. I'll get an idea and then hesitate, and someone else ends up doing it. It's like ideas are downloaded to multiple people simultaneously. Whoever acts on it first often succeeds. So, if you have an idea, you might be getting it for a reason. Don't put it off too long.
