What is one lesson you have learned that has proven significant in your career?
I would say a lesson that I've learned is that tomorrow is a new day. There's always going to be a day where nothing goes right, where you are late to every meeting, where people don't show up, someone doesn't do something they said they were going to do, or you don't do something you said you were going to do.
As a result, the day just kind of implodes, and you just have to do your best to get through it. When you leave work, when you clock out, you kind of take that lesson with you. Hopefully, you commit to things that you can accomplish; you don't overextend yourself.
But in some ways, you just have to leave it where it is. You just have to leave it at work, leave it yesterday. Then, when you come in the next day, you just try and do better and try and move forward from it. Dwelling in it doesn't often lead to more success.
You just try and have a clean slate. Tomorrow's a new day.
