Transcript

What are the main responsibilities you have as a kindergarten teacher?

I teach multiple subjects to a class of about 30 students. This includes phonics, math, science, reading, and writing.

I also manage and collaborate with my instructional assistant. Every kindergarten teacher has an instructional assistant in the classroom. We have to manage them and ensure they follow our lesson plans when they conduct small groups.

I am also the planner for the readers and writers curriculum. I am in charge of planning all of that for the entire grade level, and I have to submit the plans weekly.

We also attend and lead the weekly grade-level meetings and the internalization meetings. This is where we go over our weekly lessons and discuss any key misconceptions students might have and how to address them.
