What does a day in the life of an analytics engineering manager look like?

I think it changes from company to company. I imagine in many industries, especially those that use project management software like Jira, there are common concepts.

These include Sprints and scrums. If those terms mean nothing to you, I definitely recommend Googling them. They are useful terms and ways of doing project management.

At the end of the day, it's about figuring out what we're working on, what our goals are, and what we're trying to build. Project management software helps ensure we're pointed in the right direction and driving value for stakeholders.

My day often involves working on tickets myself, which might mean going into the database or our analytics platform to figure things out or answer questions. Or, I'm writing tickets for engineers, asking them to change specific things so we can look at data differently.

So, the day-to-day is a lot of project roadmapping. This might change if you have an individual project manager on your team. However, if you're an analytics engineering manager, a product manager, or a project manager, you're likely working a lot within a scrum or Kanban environment.
