What is one lesson that you have learned that has proven significant in your career?

Help others when you can. I think that's been the most important thing for me. When you help someone, they often help you back.

In one of my projects, I'd always ask my managers if they needed a hand with extra work. If they were working on business proposals or pursuits, I'd offer extra support and say we could work on it together.

Several months later, when I was off my project, they suggested me to a colleague who needed someone to join their project. This happened because they remembered that I had helped them previously.

It really takes you a long way. People remember when you help them, just as you remember when people help you. So, always help others when you can.
