Could you walk me through your career path, starting with your experiences in college? Did you have any internships or jobs before your current role?
I attended UCLA from 2015 to 2019, majoring in political science with a minor in public policy. While in college, I focused primarily on my education.
In terms of internships, I was involved with political and finance clubs on campus. During my fourth year, I participated in the UC DC program, spending a semester in Washington D.C. with other UC students.
There, I interned on the Hill for the Senate Committee on Banking and Finance, gaining my first experience in that environment. After graduating, I moved to D.C. and interned for a nonprofit called Americans for Financial Reform.
Following that, I began my first job at EAB, a private education research firm. I spent a year there doing research, working with schools, and learning about education-related data.
After EAB, I joined a small consulting firm, M2 Strategy, where I focused on financial data and risk management for NOAA. I was there for about a year or two.
I enjoyed consulting and decided to stay in the field. I then applied to Deloitte for a similar role in risk management within their advisory sector, and I've been working there since.
