What are your main responsibilities within your current role?
My main responsibilities in my current role are around culture and instruction as it relates to culture. There are some proactive things that I'm responsible for, such as working with my team of teachers to intentionally create the routines and systems that will best support students in focusing and engaging in their classes.
On the reactive side, any discipline issues that arise and cannot be teacher-managed land on my plate. On the instruction side, there is a lot of coaching and time spent reflecting with teachers on their individual practice. I share my observations and their strength and growth areas.
I also have responsibilities around mandatory state testing, and optional state testing that students may need. This testing helps them as they think about their next steps after high school.
