What are your main responsibilities within your current role?
As a Director of Operations, I oversee a team of 14. A lot of my responsibilities involve ensuring my team is set up for success, so they can navigate their day-to-day tasks without significant roadblocks.
I also focus on strategy, considering what the team needs to accomplish daily to meet our six-month or 12-month goals. This includes negotiating contracts, working with partners or vendors, and setting up consultants.
Additionally, I handle day-to-day decision-making. For example, deciding whether to book a rail car for product transport today, and understanding the implications compared to booking it later.
Overall, my role involves both high-level strategic tasks and daily operational decisions, with a primary focus on supporting the team to achieve our work.
