What does a day in the life of your role look like?
I'd say my day is a mix of meetings and heads-down work. I do a lot of collaborative workshops on Mural, running one about once or twice a week.
These workshops are with our cross-functional team, including designers and product managers. I recently finished a series of workshops focused on mapping our product roadmap to the customer journey. The last one was about our products' value propositions and how they connect to that journey.
A typical day starts with about an hour of deep thinking. I literally write things down on paper, a habit from my consulting background where I do a lot of problem-solving. I figure out what the workshop should look like and what the desired outcome is.
Then, I design the workshop on Mural and host it a few days later. That's one of the main parts of my role.
Beyond workshops, I also have meetings to connect with people. I'm working on side projects, like getting to know more people at Walmart. My peer and I are drafting a relationship strategy.
I also have meetings where I help out my peers. For example, one peer asked to talk for half an hour after hearing about my workshops.
Finally, I also need to take mental breaks. Sometimes I'll go for a walk or have lunch.
