What do you enjoy most about being in your current role?
I would say the impact of my position is taking a very distressed building and ending up with a strong leader. That leader recruits all the staff we've posted for and ensures we have a strong Director of Nursing and a good working partnership.
In turn, they hire a good marketing team. They develop referrals, so we go from having a building with a low census to being fully staffed, highly profitable, and having many people waiting for a position at our facility.
To me, that's very satisfying because you can actually see the results of what you planted. It's very rewarding, especially in very rural buildings where we sponsored nurses but couldn't figure out how to get staff there. Now we're seeing those nurses start and provide great patient care.
Before I started with the company, they didn't have any social media pages or highlight what we were doing for residents. I spearheaded that. It's wonderful because now we get applications from every avenue, even Facebook and LinkedIn, not just Indeed or ZipRecruiter. I really like that.
