What have you learned about this role that you wish someone had told you before you entered the industry?

That you can make a pretty big impact. Particularly being in the US Attorney's Office as a generalist, you can learn so much. There's not an endpoint to where you learn stuff.

I've gone to other places, be it state or even White House. Stuff is so centralized, but to be able to be a generalist, you're researching laws, you're helping people, you're doing timesheets, and you get to see the outcome.

I wish people would tell you how much of an impact you could have. I think it's just, "Oh, you're an HR specialist," and you realize you get to do pretty cool things. There's so much you can do in government, not just this, like details go to different countries I've seen and it's amazing.
