What did you do in college to set you up for success in your career?
In college, I was very intentional about a mix of academic knowledge and practical experience. I worked full-time during college, but afterwards, I pursued internships that aligned with my interests in policy and community development. This helped me apply classroom learning to real-world challenges.
I also took on leadership roles in student organizations and community initiatives. That experience taught me project management, collaboration, and how to advocate for causes I cared about. These are skills I use every day in my work.
Networking was another key focus. I made an effort to connect with professors, guest speakers, and professionals in my field. This helped me gain mentorship and insight into different career paths.
Finally, I stayed curious and open to learning. I sought out classes and opportunities that pushed me outside my comfort zone. That willingness to grow has been crucial in my career journey.
