What is your biggest challenge in this job role?
The biggest challenge in this role is that you have to make decisions. You are working to improve processes and help other teams navigate their roles. The biggest challenge is owning that responsibility.
This means you have to be very cognizant of the fact that you are giving advice to people and setting up processes for them. It's the mental burden of knowing you are responsible for how all these other teams operate.
I think the mindset is nearly 100% of the game. If you approach it as an opportunity for yourself as much as you view it as something you owe to your partners, you can't find enjoyment in developing processes and playbooks for these other organizations.
That is the biggest hurdle in this role. My own project management skills are still developing. I am better at it today than I was before, but there's still a lot more to learn.
Having the right mindset about it, and frankly, not shying away from the mandates, is crucial. On top of chasing new knowledge, fearlessness, boldness, and self-confidence will contribute to you becoming better and faster.
