What is your biggest challenge in your current role?

I would say managing economic fluctuations and how that impacts shifts in the job market. I'm in cybersecurity, and the tech industry has unfortunately seen an unbelievable amount of layoffs within the last couple of years. Now, there's an influx of talent available.

Companies hiring have the advantage due to high unemployment rates. However, that makes it really competitive for candidates looking for their next job. I'd refer to this as an employer's market.

On the other end, there are times when unemployment rates are super low, and it becomes a candidate's market. That switch is very obvious because it makes hiring much more competitive for companies.

I think anticipating these types of fluctuations and being able to adapt our processes or strategies can sometimes be a challenge. But if you can anticipate it and are prepared, you'll be fine.
