How would you describe people who typically thrive in this industry?
That's a good question. This is my perspective, but I also want to preface that I think many personalities can be successful in this industry.
From what I've seen, a general curiosity to learn and progress in your career will make you successful. I think the question behind the question in tech interviews is often: "How will you challenge the status quo?"
If you are naturally curious and want to improve yourself, you'll eventually want to improve your work. This will be passed along to the company's goals, and you'll be successful.
However, this can go in many different ways. You don't have to be the most outspoken or a people leader; you can be an individual contributor. The key is whether you constantly want to grow and evolve professionally. I think that's what will make you successful in any industry.
