What did you do in college to set you up for success in your career?

I had a few experiences in college that introduced me to budgeting and numbers. I worked in a treasury role at one point, which came into effect quite a bit later in my career.

The biggest thing was that I had an idea of what I wanted to do going into school. If I hadn't had a general direction, I probably would have held off on going to college.

In my opinion, education is very important. But it's critical that you make sure it's being used as a tool to take you to the next step professionally.

This isn't to say that it wouldn't be great to go back and study something I'm interested in later in life. Having a purpose behind your education helps frame everything you do throughout college, whether it's your internships, jobs you apply for afterward, or the degree you choose.
