What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?
I work in the security industry. People sometimes think it's boring and very technical, often behind the scenes. But security is so necessary for how we live and work today, both personally and professionally.
I find it super rewarding when we help organizations protect their employees. We also work on mobile devices, which blend personal life, like banking or social media apps, with company apps such as Salesforce or Workday. These apps coexist on the same device.
I take it personally that we're helping to protect not only the company but the individual as well. My dad worked in security for many years; he's long passed since then. For years, I didn't really understand what security was because it was mostly physical.
Now, we're talking cybersecurity. You don't know when you're getting hacked, or if clicking on something will damage you personally or your company's reputation. I see it as a personal responsibility to help organizations and people protect themselves.
