What Type Of Person Thrives In The Sales Industry According To A VP Sales At ProducePay

David, a VP of Sales, challenges the "alpha male" stereotype often associated with sales leadership, asserting that success stems from "being true to what you are" rather than conforming to expectations. The most effective approach, according to David, is to "just roll with it," embracing one's authentic style.

3. Effectiveness relies on self-awareness and aligning your approach with your authentic nature.

Transcript

How would you describe the people who typically thrive in your role?

I think maybe there's a stigma that somebody who's a VP of sales, a sales lead, or a CRO is this alpha male, machismo kind of dude. But at the end of the day, I think it's just about whatever style works for you.

I wouldn't think of or describe myself that way. For some people that works; for some people it doesn't. I think it's just about being true to what you are and not trying to wear a different mask.

Because at the end of the day, you're going to regress and default back to your true nature. So if your nature works, then just roll with it.
