What are your main responsibilities within your current role?
My main responsibilities are to help my clients. In executive search, a client typically comes to us looking for help finding a new senior executive to bring onto their team. My job is to go out to the market after identifying the exact profile they're looking for.
I use LinkedIn and other networking sites to find profiles that match the ideal specification. From there, it's reaching out to them, leveraging business development skills via email or phone to set up an interview. I assess their potential candidacy.
If I think they're a good fit, I connect them to the client to speak further. Then, I become more of a coordinating role, serving as the middleman. My job is to continue bringing in more potential candidates until the client says they've found the answer.
The job involves a lot of things; it's a project management-focused role. I have to constantly balance all the different candidates, who may be at different stages. Some might be in initial interviews, while others are further along.
There's also the business development aspect, where I have to get used to reaching out. Sometimes, I might even have to cold call or cold email to build these relationships. Understanding where the client is and managing that client relationship is also key. Those are my main responsibilities in this role so far.
