What does a day in the life of a VP of operations look like?

A lot of what we're doing right now involves Zoom calls. It used to not be all Zoom calls; we had a lot of face-to-face meetings. Nowadays, I'm probably on calls with either internal or external folks for six hours out of every day.

A lot of that is internal calls. As operations, I'm meeting with our supply chain, meeting with our direct reports who have leadership teams, and meeting with the sales and solutions teams on new opportunities.

The rest of the time is spent with my teams. This includes team development, discussing what their teams are doing, what their teams need in terms of support, and their capabilities. I focus on making sure they are best prepared and that their team members are doing well.

Then, there's probably at least an hour every day dedicated to some sort of firefighting.
