What do you enjoy most about being in your current role?
That's a good question. I would say impacts, and that goes a few different ways.
Most importantly, with the team that I have, I've got 25 full-time employees. They're all at different positions and places in their lives. To be able to really get to know them, understand what motivates them, and see them progress, grow, skill-build, and get promotions, that level of impact, and being able to help steward that, even though it's all of their own making, is something that's really special to me, and I never take it for granted.
Also, the impact that we have as a department. Between ticketing and fan experience, we are responsible for every single person that comes into that venue and what they experience once they're in there. Everything from when they park to the fan festival, to the lines at concessions, to how difficult it is to get to your seat, what's taking place on the field – it's everything.
Ultimately, if we hit our goal, it covers the cost of all player salaries. It also allows the rest of the team to continue to grow because we're the third biggest revenue unit within the PLL. So, impact is probably the one that comes to mind the most.
Both on how we help provide resources and opportunities to the staff within our team, and also the work that we gotta do publicly. The coolest thing about it is we get all the survey results after the event on the fan experience side.
It's consistently like, "Hey, I got to spend a full day with my son. He hasn't really been talking a lot because he just moved schools, and we just had to move here, and he doesn't really know people. But this was like, he told me this was the best day of his life." Those types of things, we think about a lot, probably not enough.
But the fact that we help those people create those memories through a sport that we love is kind of the coolest thing in the world. And it's just through the hard work of our team. So I would say probably impact.
