Main Responsibilities of a Partner at Advue Consulting

Daniel's main responsibilities at Advue Consulting encompass "day-to-day operations," including project review and execution, business process automation leveraging their IBM experience to improve internal services, and management, which includes employee oversight and crucial cashflow management in the smaller firm setting. This contrasts sharply with prior roles in large corporations, where such diverse responsibilities were likely delegated.

What are your main responsibilities in your current role?

I would describe my role in three sections. The first is day-to-day operations. As a consulting firm, I review current projects and also do some of the work myself.

The second part of my role is on the business process automation side. We have an accounting, consulting, and investment arm. I've taken what I learned at IBM to automate and improve our internal services.

The third piece is management. I ensure our employees use their time effectively and understand their projects. I also oversee any mishaps. Since we're a smaller boutique firm with about 20 people, I'm also very involved in managing cashflow and ensuring we meet our obligations weekly.

This is very different from the large corporate firms I used to work for. It's almost like a startup, where someone has to handle all the tasks I never considered before. That's what I believe encompasses my role currently.
