Favorite Parts of Being a Partner at Advue Consulting

Daniel, a Partner at Advue Consulting, finds the most rewarding aspect of his current role is the firm's focus on helping small, Latino-owned businesses— "between 500 to $20 million in revenue"— grow, allowing him to directly impact "great entrepreneurs" who need business guidance. This contrasts with larger firms where "you don't really choose how you use your time," offering a more fulfilling and impactful career path.

What do you enjoy most about being in your current role?

What I enjoy most, and specifically the change I made from working at big companies like IBM or KPMG, is that we focus on small businesses. These are companies between $500,000 and $20 million in revenue, and we have a more segmented focus.

A particular group we focus on are Latino-owned businesses. I think this makes me feel like my work is actually impacting people. I can see how these individuals are great entrepreneurs, but they perhaps didn't have a business background or go to school.

They're great at selling or doing specific things and make millions of dollars, but they need help. So, it definitely feels like my work impacts people, and people who, you know, grew up like them.

I think that is one of the most rewarding things about working in a boutique consulting firm versus a larger brand. You can pick the direction of where you want your value to be added and your mind to be put to work.

If you work at a bigger firm, it's great to start off because you learn a lot, but you don't really choose how you use your time.
