Transcript

What are your main responsibilities in your current role?

Sure, I own my own company. I'm an executive trainer and I work with individuals in a one-on-one coaching capacity, as a professional coach.

I also work in group facilitation, so I can work in offsites, retreats, and with big teams to develop high performance. This could be presentation skills, coaching, and feedback, or personality assessments.

We can explore how we communicate better and work better with one another. To do all of that and run my own business, there's a lot of back-end business management.

This includes invoicing, insurance, and booking my own travel. If I'm honest, there's a lot that's "biz death" – the networking, relationship building, submitting for RFPs, and pitching my business and services.

There's also content creation. If I book a gig, what am I actually going to be presenting or sharing with them?

Lastly, there's the actual execution of it all. I spend probably about 10 to 20% of my time traveling, working with clients on the road, at their offices, or at offsite locations.

If it's one-on-one coaching, I'm engaging with them usually over Zoom or via phone. So, there's a lot of variety in running a small business and in my line of work, where I work with large groups and then also individuals.
