What do you enjoy most about being in your current role?

I would say, particularly for the role and then for the sector that I work in. For the role, it's really about when I think about the way I help my boss function, I think the thing that I most enjoy is seeing him live out his dream and his vision.

I would argue not a lot of executive assistants can say that. A lot of what you might think of in corporate America is, okay, you go in, you clock in, you clock out. But for him, he is very clear on his vision and where he wants to go.

It's really about making someone a better person, and how gratifying that is. That was also something I carried over from having been a teacher. In some ways, it's like I feel like I'm sitting him down and saying, "Sit down, listen, I'm going to teach you something today."

I think something that has always been very fulfilling for me is being able to watch people grow and knowing that I had a hand in it. To put it simply, if I can help someone become a better person and I become a better person for it, it's kind of this reciprocation. There's this symbiotic relationship where it's a win-win, and we're all helping each other. So I would say that is probably one of the most rewarding things in the role that I'm in.

Particularly for venture capital, and this isn't necessarily true across the board because I've had opposite experiences in the same field, one of the coolest things is the people and the association I have. The people that I meet at my job are incredible. I don't have words for the kind of people I meet and what they're building.

My brain has been expanded just by the people I've met and the things they tell me they're doing and the experiences they've had. That is probably one of the most enjoyable things about my role. It's being able to not only watch my boss grow, improve, meet his goals, and do the things he said he was going to do, but also seeing others do it and how he is helping them do it. So, really seeing our founders build something incredible that the world needs or wants. That's probably some of the best things about my role.
