As an undergrad, I spent a lot of time in the Daily Bread News Room. There were many long nights and many interviews.
I had a small tape recorder that I used to interview people.
That gave me a lot of discipline. Once you write a story, it has to go through editorial and any creative. So there's a long process, and you just get one thing out every day.
That discipline is the same way I treat my career and my schooling. That structure helped me position myself, showing me how they approach business. That's one thing I take away from my undergrad.
