What does a day in the life of an account executive look like?
The day in the life of an account executive? It honestly varies. I like to say that not every day is the same, which I'm personally appreciative of in the workplace, in the industry that I'm in.
Typically, I would have meetings with my internal team. That would mean my creatives, my producers, just to make sure that we are tracking progress on all of our projects and meeting deadlines. If they have any questions about some of the things they're working on, I would take a pause in my day to collect those questions.
Then I go back to our clients and make sure that we can get responses in a relatively quick fashion. Likewise, I'm having meetings with clients. I'm making sure that they feel satisfied with the campaigns that we're working on.
For the campaigns that we've already finished, we are tracking data and results to discuss if those campaigns were successful or if they had some challenges. We also discuss the learnings from those challenges that we can apply into our next campaigns.
Otherwise, if I am not managing a specific campaign, I'm also doing my own research across different competitors for my clients. This is to make sure that we can track trends and the competition in general. This ensures that at the end of the day, I'm still bringing value to our conversations.
As an account executive, I may not be doing the physical design work, but I can still be creative in pitching ideas. I can at least know where I can take a discussion based on the ideas that have already been presented.
