What are your main responsibilities within your role?
I am a policy and legislative advocate for Health Access California. My main responsibilities right now involve a lot of data analysis. I also produce research documents specifically related to campaigns concerning the federal response to save Medicaid.
I also work as a lobbyist, specializing mostly in the state budget. I attend numerous hearings and meetings, explaining why I support specific proposals. Recently, this has involved the "health route" campaign, but I also work on about 20 other pieces of legislation.
This role involves a lot of public-facing work and public speaking. It also includes significant data analysis and writing, so I think it's a combination of all those things.
