What are your main responsibilities within your current role?
My main responsibility involves the basic duties of an educator. I have to lesson plan and unit plan for my daily lessons. I also manage the classroom to ensure it's a safe environment.
On a deeper level, one of my biggest responsibilities as an educator is being a trusted adult for students. I take this responsibility most seriously. In all that I do, I want my students to feel safe, seen, and heard.
My biggest responsibility is ensuring that my students feel safe in the classroom. If there's a problem, they should feel they can come to me about it, whether it's about school, life, or their future.
I guide them through anything happening, school-related or life-related. I also direct them to available resources and services. This ensures they can be the most successful humans for themselves and achieve their goals.
Ultimately, the biggest responsibility is being that trusted adult. This helps students become the best versions of themselves so they can find success in their future, whatever that looks like for them.
