Could you walk me through your career path, starting with your experiences in college? Please include any internships or jobs you had before your current work.
Starting off in college, I was initially a telemarketer. I was the kind of student who just got involved in everything on campus.
I wasn't part of the business fraternity, but I was a part of the Supply Chain Management Association. I was also in a multicultural business student program at Michigan State.
I basically dove into the business college. The reason I did this is I knew I was never very good at grades and always struggled with getting a 4.0 quarter after quarter.
However, I was very good at networking. I worked to make sure I was making time to meet with different recruiters and people.
One thing that set me apart is that I met with every recruiter who came into Michigan State's business college. I would sit down and say, "Here's my resume," which I continued to update. That has paid off in my career.
I know I'm very good at resumes and help people every chance I get because it's the first document and your first impression. It can make or break if you get to the next phase.
