What is your biggest challenge in your current role?
The biggest challenge is going back to what's most important. Something I'm still working on and developing is being adaptable and open.
Things can happen on an audit where unexpected things arise. In my past positions, I often had a set plan that I could follow to meet specific goals.
It wasn't a lot of shifting around that was required as an auditor. For me, it was easy and satisfying to check things off my to-do list for the day, which felt therapeutic and accomplished.
However, I was surprised when I realized I had to push aside my planned tasks to focus on an incoming email. It's all about adaptability, and I'm still learning how to navigate through that.
This is a new position and a new type of role for me. I'm now in a managerial or operational role, rather than being the one auditing and reviewing.
This has been the most challenging aspect, just being able to reprioritize every single day.
