How would you describe people who typically thrive in this industry?
It's a big cliché, but I think people who can wear many hats and are willing to learn new skills do well, not only in the nonprofit sector but also in consulting. In consulting, you really have to jump from task to task and be okay with learning new software or making something you've never made before in Excel.
To do that without burning out, you have to be authentic and practice good self-care. You'll be asked to do things you might question, but the answer is yes, and you'll have to figure it out. That's what I think.
