Biggest Challenges Faced By An Orbit Analyst II At ExoAnalytic Solutions
Chase's biggest challenge as an Orbit Analyst II at ExoAnalytic Solutions is the lack of established communication and support systems within the small company, resulting in "messages sent to the void." However, recent improvements in inter-shift communication, driven by a colleague's shift change and the development of new internal tools, are slowly addressing these issues.

What is your biggest challenge in your current role?
I think currently it's just being in a small company where, if I do need help, there aren't a lot of people available. It has recently gotten much better.
The other night shift person moved to the daytime, so he gets a little more training because he's awake. He's also a good friend of mine.
Communication between the night and daytime shifts was virtually non-existent for a long time. Messages like, "Hey, we're having troubles with this," or "we're finding problems with things that we don't know about," would just get sent to the void. Nobody would respond, or someone would assume someone else would look at it.
Luckily, in the last few months, that has dramatically improved since he moved to the daytime. Now I can communicate with him, and he's on the East Coast while I'm further west. This works out because he wakes up before my shift is over. He knows what it's like to send messages to nobody.
There are still a lot of tools being built for our company. We haven't had this many people before, and we haven't needed to communicate like this before. We're trying to navigate things like adding new tools and seeing if they help with current problems where things are always broken.
It's definitely challenging to keep up with everything and to see what works and doesn't work. There isn't an established method, and there are about a hundred people who work here. So, it's fun, but it can be difficult at times.
