People who like to work alone, or at least can work alone, tend to do pretty well. However, it depends on the context.
As you progress further into software engineering and technology roles, there's less coding and more involvement in meetings and planning. If you enjoy that aspect, there are suitable positions. For me personally, I prefer coding.
