What do you enjoy most about being in your current role?
Personally, the organization I work with helps people get housing and become stabilized. While that's the overall purpose of our business, it's easy to feel like I'm just on the administrative side. However, you're a huge piece of the entire engine running.
I enjoy being a part of that purpose and making sure lives are being changed, even through the administrative tasks that keep the business running. I really enjoy being connected to a purpose and using my gifts and skills toward something I'm good at.
I enjoy being a problem-solver, even when things are difficult and the direction is unclear. It's awesome to reach the other side and know we figured it out. I also like to be collaborative, always bringing everyone in to discuss issues and give people a voice.
I find myself, in a way, at the center of how things come together. Sometimes I'm responsible for figuring out how to quickly execute solutions for problems that come in through phone calls, mail, or email. By the time you get through an issue, you feel like you've accomplished something, and it's nice to have those wins throughout the day or week.
Administratively, I feel it's a very utility role. I like to say that because you can do so many different things, build your skills in various ways, and apply them to the organization. I like to learn a little about what everyone is doing so I can jump in or offer feedback. Those are all things I enjoy.
