What does a day in the life of your role look like?

A day in the life of my role usually starts with a lot of communication, often between myself and the CEO, Chief Operating Officer, or Chief Financial Officer. We have morning calls or meetings to review our current status.

We discuss anything that may have happened during the day or overnight. This is important because the businesses we run operate 24/7. We provide transitional housing for candidates seeking re-entry into society and also offer homeless services.

After these calls, I come in and go through any mail pertaining to the business. I then start communicating via email, addressing everything from insurances to responding to various requests.

I might also meet with my team to discuss the day ahead. We'll cover any urgent matters they might have experienced or need to address immediately. Then, we might dive into a project.

For instance, today we're reviewing our department's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to make them more efficient. This is a priority because we're still a fairly young organization, and many foundational elements need to be built.

Additionally, I'm working on matters related to rent and other property-related tasks. I'll likely spend a significant amount of time responding to various communications that require my attention. I also touch base with other staff members, including the HR department, to stay informed and offer support where needed.
