What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?

Helping people. That's why I got into nursing. Before I really knew what nursing was, I just wanted to help people.

Prior to deciding on a nursing degree, I wanted to do physical therapy to help people get better after injuries. That kind of sports medicine, that's where I wanted to go.

I'm so glad I didn't go into physical therapy. I'm glad I went into nursing instead. I am truly fortunate for it.

I really love coming in and helping a family or a patient for a day. Even if I don't feel like they're going to get better, or if it wasn't a successful day in their healthcare journey, I can still go in and offer empathy, offer care, offer compassion.

I can hold somebody's hand or hug somebody if they need it. I really do enjoy that part. That's what keeps me going in nursing.
