What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?

The thing I enjoy most about being in tech is that it is competitive. Specifically, it's competitive around talent. As an HR professional, that means my work is really important and fun.

Tech, as an industry, is so competitive for talent. This means each company is really trying to think creatively about how to hire and retain the best people. It becomes a fun game of who can offer not just the best compensation, but the best experience, perks, and learning opportunities.

This includes who has the best managers, leadership, promotion path, and promotion cycle. There are so many ways HR can improve and differentiate an employee experience, which can set us apart from competitors.

When you compare this to some other industries, they aren't tackling that problem head-on. Tech employees have really high standards for what good is when it comes to an employee experience. That keeps pushing us as HR people to be better, more creative, and come up with new ideas. We also learn from our peers and new employees.

So, the most exciting thing about the tech field is that there's always something new to learn and a new way to evolve within the industry.
