What is one lesson that you have learned that has proven significant in your career?
In my current position, I've learned not to make ego the center. This means owning up to mistakes, especially in client and customer management. We are the service providers, and our clients rely on us to fulfill their needs.
Sometimes, if I've made a mistake or there's been tension, I have to remember to put the client first, not my ego. This is a people business, and we don't want to terminate relationships. I certainly didn't think about this when I was in my early twenties and teaching.
