What skills are most important for a job like yours?
If I were to narrow it down, I would choose three key things. The first is your ability to build relationships and your communication skills.
This is a people business, and if you work in an education-adjacent position, building relationships with people and understanding their "why" is key. You need to understand what they're looking for and then proceed from there.
The second is organization. As I mentioned, there are many client calls, a lot of collaboration, and numerous internal and external calls every day. You definitely need to be organized and have a way to keep up with all your responsibilities without letting anything fall by the wayside.
Lastly, for me, success is being grounded in your purpose and "why." Whether you're a teacher, working in education tech, or an education staffing service, it's crucial to keep your "why" at the center. For me, that's always been putting students first and catering to their diverse needs. That's always at the forefront of my mind.
