Transcript

What are your main responsibilities within your current role?

My current role involves three primary responsibilities broadly focused on teaching, research, and service. In teaching, I instruct undergraduate and graduate students in special education.

I prepare students to become special education teachers, and sometimes general education teachers. At the graduate level, I also prepare teachers or future researchers. These courses often focus on research methodology and special education content.

In research, my responsibilities include conducting and leading projects, supporting research teams, and publishing. My research specifically focuses on young adults with autism and intellectual disabilities, preparing them for life after high school. I conduct applied research in this area using various methodologies.

Finally, in service, I serve on committees at the department, college, and university levels. I also review for organizations in my field.
