What are the main responsibilities within your role as an account supervisor?
At an advertising agency, you are in charge of a client's business. As the account manager, account executive, or in my role as account supervisor, you relay client needs to the creative teams. They then develop ideas for TV spots, digital ads, or experiential campaigns.
Strategists internally brainstorm concepts and determine where and how to reach audiences across various platforms. Producers are responsible for bringing these ideas to life, creating the TV spots and ads. All of this information funnels up to me as the account person.
Account managers are also affectionately called "suits" within an agency, as we focus on coordination and client satisfaction. It involves significant relationship and project management. Depending on the agency, if there isn't a dedicated project manager, the account person takes on that role as well.
This includes managing timelines and deadlines, ensuring accountability for producing the work, and ultimately ensuring client happiness, as they are the ones funding the project. My typical responsibilities also involve a lot of meetings, emails, and communication, which I really enjoy.
