What is your biggest challenge in your role?

The startup I was at had about 15 people, with an average engineering team of three or four. This meant we were super resource-constrained.

We had a product out, were getting customer feedback, and a long roadmap for product development, marketing, and customer acquisition. With only three engineers, we had to figure out what offered the lowest lift and highest impact.

It was also challenging to shape the executives' vision and parse out what was truly important. Getting engineers to prioritize and agree on key tasks was the hardest part.

It takes a lot of effort to stay focused across the organization.
